About Amy J. Price

Hi – I’m Amy, owner of Priceless Communications LLC. My career started back in 1994, just after earning an undergraduate art degree at Kendall College of Art & Design. While working to build my freelance art career, I worked at nonprofits to “pay the bills.” Somehow, I always ended up working on advertising, newsletters and annual reports at the nonprofits I worked for. This probably happened because 1) smart nonprofits are always savvy to offer opportunities for staff to gain experience beyond their assigned duties and 2) I was good at those things.

After about ten years of chasing the freelance dream I made a career switch to focus on marketing communications for nonprofits. With the kind assistance of my employer, Grand Rapids Community Foundation, I was able to earn my master’s in communications at Grand Valley State University. Since then I have worked full-time in marketing communications.

In 2013, I accepted a position in communications with the State of Michigan, where I currently am employed.  Soon, though, I began to miss the scrappy nonprofit environment and the variety of nonprofit work. I decided to supplement my full-time employment with contractual communications work for nonprofits and small businesses.

Since then, I have worked with a number of organizations to help improve their online presence. These include animal rescues, membership associations and service providers.

Note: As a State of Michigan employee, my employment cannot be a conflict of interest with the State. This means no political campaigns or advocacy for legislation

Priceless Communications is staffed by myself, and my other half, Matt Manley, who contributes graphics and Photoshop expertise.
